Tasty enough for just $4.99, we review the Grifone Bianco from Trader Joe's.
An unidentified white blend from Italy. The wine is made from organic grapes and is vegan friendly.
This wine is available exclusively at Trader Joe's where it retails for just $4.99. It is imported by Latitude Wines.
There's not much information on this non-vintage wine, but it appears that in the past it may have been a blend of Riesling and Moscato. In any case, let's check it out.
From the bottle:
Surrounded by the romantic atmosphere of "osterie" and wine bars along the little roads of Italian villages, it is tradition to drink a crisp and aromatic white wine, the "Bianco". Our Grifone Bianco is blessed with a floral and fresh bouquet, filled with peach, honey and apricot fruit flavors. A perfect everyday drinking, famous for its food pairing capability. This wine is especially suitable for pairing with vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Bottled by Roccadoro
12% Alcohol
The Grifone Bianco opens with a fresh, pleasing, albeit a bit underwhelming aroma of citrus and flowers.
Tasting the light-bodied wine reveals it to be easy to drink but lacking some depth. Featuring good acidity and similar flavors to the nose, it's not particularly memorable but it is tasty enough to be worth the extremely low price.
It ends with a crisp, dry, lip-smacking finish.
