The 2019 MAAL Biutiful Malbec opens with aromas of plum and other dark fruit plus some nicely integrated spice and floral notes. It's quite attractive, especially after a couple hours of air.
Tasting the nicely balanced wine reveals similar flavors to the nose but the fruit tastes fresh and juicy in the mouth. And while it didn't spend any time in oak, it is still dark, quite delicious and even a tad bit meaty.
It ends dry with a bit of tannic grip on the smooth, long finish. This is a great example of not needing oak to create a compelling, complex wine.
