You better buy two of our latest Costco find, the Querciabella Mongrana.
50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot (all organically grown) from the Alberese and Grosseto vineyards in Maremma, Tuscany, Italy. The wine is aged in cement and stainless steel tanks and is vegan friendly.
The Querciabella Mongrana has an SRP of $24 but we grabbed it for just $15.99 at Costco. No Costco? You can check other retailers here where it averages $20. It is imported by Maisons Marques & Domaines and 110,000 bottles were produced.
Already labelled by many as “classic”, 2018 is for sure one of the most harmonious vintages of the last decade due to regular weather patterns and a prolonged ripening season that lasted well into perfect Autumn days. From the onset of budburst, the growth season proceeded smoothly until picking. The near-perfect conditions at harvest and our great timing and precision in picking brought to the cellar grapes of exceptional quality.

The 2018 Querciabella Mongrana begins with a fresh and attractive aroma of blackberry, black cherry, licorice, a little mint, wintergreen, chocolate and more. There is lots to smell and lots to like here.
The wine tastes smooth, harmonious and delicious with all the notes and flavors from the nose re-appearing in the mouth. Add in a vibrant mouthfeel, and this is a really tasty blend.
It ends dry, long, satisfying and slightly chewy with even a few mineral notes underneath. Better buy two of this one!
