Weekly Wrap-Up: An Abundance of Italian Wine, The Russian River Valley and More

Last Updated on February 23, 2021

Welcome to the weekly wrap-up!

We covered several different Italian wines this week, and yet we’ve only scratched the surface. The amount and diversity of wine available in just this one country is truly mind-boggling and it gives wine lovers the world over an almost unlimited range of wines to explore. In our brief tour this week we traveled to Abruzzo to try a delicious Montepulciano, to Alto Adige to sample a unique and age-worthy Pinot Grigio and lastly to Tuscany for a Super Tuscan with a Mediterranean twist.

Also this week, Pinot Noir under $20 is always a tough proposition, but Pinot Noir from the highly acclaimed Russian River Valley? Although it sounds too good to be true, we found a delicious one this week from 90+ Cellars: Ninety Plus Cellars Reserve Lot 56 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2008 – Eminently Drinkable.

Lastly, make sure not to miss our Bulk Buy this week on an amazing Riesling from Alsace: 2009 Trimbach Riesling – A Delicately Delicious BULK BUY!. If you’ve always wondered why wine geeks go ga-ga for Riesling, just check this $15 beauty out!
