Tasty, with lots of Tuscan character, we review the Canto Del Principe Tre Cipressi Bolgheri Rosso Toscana From Trader Joe’s.
60% Sangiovese, 30% Malvasia and 10% Ciliegiolo from Bolgheri in the Chianti and Maremma zones of Tuscany, Italy. The wine has 2 g/L of residual sugar.
The Canto Del Principe Tre Cipressi Bolgheri is available for $14.99, exclusively at Trader Joe’s. It is imported by D’Aquino Italian Importing Co.
From the bottle:
Bolgheri, the sacred land of Tuscan wine, reveals aromas of black cherry and sweet spices blending with balsamic notes. The oak aging gives the palate elegance and depth, showcasing velvety tannins, vibrant freshness, and a savory, lingering finish.
13.5% Alcohol
The 2022 Canto Del Principe Tre Cipressi Bolgheri Rosso Toscana opens with attractive aromas of brambly berries, bright black cherry, plum and nice touches of baking spice, mint and vanilla.
Tasting reveals some nice Tuscan character in this wine. The wine features similar flavors to the nose and has plenty of juicy acidity. It’s mostly about the fruit, which is quite good and sweet tasting in this dry wine, but also has those secondary touches from the nose. This is a tasty red blend for the price.
It ends dry and juicy with good length and was similar on day 2. This is the same winery/label as the 2016 Canto Del Principe Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva we recently reviewed, also from Trader Joe’s.
