From the bottle:
Our Castle Rock Pinot Noir was produced from grapes grown in beautiful Mendocino County, where vineyards were first planted in the early 1860’s. In the fertile and rugged landscape the cool springs, warm summers, crisp falls, and wet winters make ideal conditions for growing Pinot Noir grapes.
This medium-bodied wine offers delicate aromas of blackberry, caramel, and cedar. The full midpalate is highlighted by ripe strawberry, leading into a long, refined finish. Pair this versatile wine with wood-fired pizza, salmon, or a charcuterie board.

The 2023 Castle Rock Pinot Noir Mendocino County opens with a pleasing aroma of cranberry, a little strawberry, some cinnamon and other spice, blood orange, a little tomato plant and more. It has a lot of the classic Pinot components and they are put together quite nicely.
Tasting the medium-bodied wine reveals it to be smooth, juicy and zesty with similar flavors to the nose. With good balance, this is a fun one to drink and quite impressive for Pinot Noir at this price.
It ends dry, juicy and with good length and was similar on day 2. Highly Recommended.
