The 2019 Clay Shannon Petite Sirah was aged for 12 months in oak, 30% of which was French. 1,139 cases were produced, and the wine has an SRP of $45.

This Petite Sirah has intense color, with aromas of blackberries and blueberries, vanilla, and roasted coffee. On the palate you find a full-body wine, blueberry, black tea, dark chocolate, sweet baking spices, and cream with a firm, complex and round tannin finish.
Bright fruit, spice, texture, and all of the tannin is a hallmark of the high-elevation vineyards of Lake County. The dark fruits, old-world characters, and dried herbs come from the lower elevations of North Napa County. Aged 12 months in oak (30% French).

The 2019 Clay Shannon Petite Sirah opens with a wonderful aroma of dark fruit, spice, some herbal notes, black tea, vanilla, touches of chocolate and lots more. There’s plenty to sniff here as you swirl.
It only takes one sip to know this is a delicious, balanced Petite Sirah. It’s big and chewy but not over the top. Full of juicy dark fruit, spice, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and much more, this is a pleasure to drink.
It ends dry, chewy, grippy and quite long with lots of lasting juicy fruit. It was just as good on day 2. Stock up on this one while you can!
