Sitting at 2,350 feet of elevation in the Fair Play AVA, these vines produce world-class Zinfandel grapes.
Aged 23 months in 50% new French oak (an incredible expense in and of itself), the winery retails it for a very reasonable $34. But of course, our Insider Deal price is much better than that…

The 2021 Comanche Cellars Medeiros Vineyard Zinfandel opens with a very enticing aroma of cedar, licorice, black cherry, and some brambly fruit plus touches of vanilla and spice. It’s quite harmonious especially after it has a couple hours of air.
Taking a sip reveals the wine to be smooth and harmonious in the mouth as well with good depth and excellent spice all the way through the finish. This is a really tasty example of Zinfandel! All the same touches from nose also appear when tasting. Quite balanced, I would never have pegged it at 15.6% alcohol. And that 50% new French oak has already integrated wonderfully even at this young age.
It ends dry and quite long with lots of lingering flavors and was similar on day 2. If you’re looking for some darn good Zin, you’ve come to the right place with this dry farmed, single vineyard beauty! Get it while you can.
