From the winery:
The raison d’etre of Halos de Jupiter is to explore the variety of expressions unique to the mosaic of terroirs of the Southern Rhone Valley. The vineyard’s elevation gives this bright and balanced Cotes du Rhone its beautiful structure and spicy fruit flavors. A food friendly wine, it pairs not only with red meats but also with pork, veal, duck and roast chicken.
Bottled for Famille Gassier
15% Alcohol
The 2021 Halos de Jupiter Cotes du Rhone opens with pleasing aromas of black cherry, licorice, black tea, leather, strawberry and more.
Tasting reveals a nice example of a Cotes du Rhone. Smooth, medium-bodied and fresh, it features similar flavors to the nose with just a bit of spice in the mouth. Good balance and nice depth make it quite pleasing to drink.
It ends dry, a bit grippy and with good length. It might have been even slightly better on day 2.
