Horse & Plow Winery is back with this absolutely delectable wine that features a wonderfully smooth mouthfeel and a lovely, layered texture.
As we said above, it comes from the historic Block House Vineyard in Yountville, originally planted in 1836 and thought to be one of the oldest in Napa Valley.
The certified organic grapes (the vineyard has been farmed organically since 1986) were whole cluster pressed and then fermented and aged in neutral French oak for 6 months. Just 9 barrels (225 cases) were produced. The highly refreshing, vegan friendly wine is packed with flavor but not with residual sugar (RS), having just 1 g/L.
The owners/winemakers of Horse & Plow are Chris Condos (from our popular Vinum Cellars deals) along with Suzanne Hagins and if you’ve gotten in on any of our previous offers from them than you know just how good these wines are.

This Pinot Gris comes from the Block House Vineyard, located in Yountville in the Napa Valley. It was hand-picked, whole cluster pressed, fermented in neutral French Oak barrels, then aged for 6 months’ sur-lee.

The 2023 Horse & Plow Pinot Gris begins with a very attractive and inviting aroma of green apple, a little peach and citrus plus plenty of floral notes and just a touch of a lemon cream.
The first thing you notice when tasting is the wonderful, smooth, almost creamy and layered texture. It also features rich, juicy fruit similar to the nose, great balance and good acidity. This is highly refreshing and I love that is so flavorful with no sugar.
It ends dry, crisp, quite long and very satisfying on the tart finish. This is an absolute pleasure to drink. I love it!
