Tasting Notes: The 2022 Marianna Napa Valley Red Wine shows abundant aromas of blackberry, cassis, and black plum. In the mouth, this broad-shouldered wine is packed with flavors of black cherry, freshly brewed espresso, and creamy saddle leather, with a persistent note of vanilla lasting throughout the finish.

Enjoy this singular wine with juicy filet mignon pan seared to perfection and served with garlic sauteed spinach and a wild rice pilaf.

And now on to our review:

The 2022 Michael Pozzan Family Reserve Marianna Napa Valley Red definitely needs some time to open up, so give it plenty of air. When it does, it unveils a really harmonious aroma of black cherry, blackberry, baking spice, a little licorice, mint, cedar and lots of other touches as you swirl and sniff. Very aromatic, it’s a great start.

Tasting the wine reveals it to be smooth, nicely dense and tannic with layers of flavors just like the nose plus great structure. This is drinking wonderfully after some air but it’s also still young with plenty of life left.

It ends dry, very long, and a bit dusty, grippy and chewy and was similar on day 2. I love it!
