Well, today there is! It’s the Insider Deal “Perfect 10” Reds 2023 Edition, available for as long as our inventory of these small production wines lasts.
Don’t miss these 4 Bulk Buy rated wines, all in one deal! Perfect for the holidays or to give as gifts.
We introduced our first “Perfect 10” pack last fall and it was a smashing success, so today we are delighted to roll out the 2023 edition. And as good as last year’s pack was, this year we’re taking it to another level.
As a reminder these collections consist of multiple wines from different wineries, all in one deal. It is not a flash deal, like most of what we offer, but instead is available for you to take advantage of as long as inventory is available. We like to consider these assortments our “Reverse Wine Club” as you are welcome to order as often as you like without any commitment at all.
Here’s what the 2023 Edition of the “Perfect 10” Reds 4-Pack includes:
- One of the original “autobuys”, the savory and irresistible 2020 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Syrah, aged 20 months in French oak (SRP $30). From the sweet spot of Amador County in the Sierra Foothills, only 462 cases were produced.
- The $45 2020 Peachy Canyon MS Behave Malbec, an undeniably delicious, dark, thick, chewy and juicy rendition of Malbec that we can’t get enough of. From Paso Robles, only 368 cases were produced.
- The extremely small production (only 184 cases made) and uber-delicious 2021 Meadowcroft Wyldvin Vineyard Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Normally retailing for $55, this is the definition of a classic Cab at a fraction of the price it would sell for in Napa!
- The smooth, silky and delicious San Saba Estate 2020 Wrath 115/667 Pinot Noir (SRP $39). The 2019 was a best-seller in our flash deals and the 2020 is at least as good. Only 728 cases were produced.
All four wines have Perfect 10 Taste Ratings (94+ points) and BULK BUY Overall Ratings and together they have an SRP of $169. As usual you won’t pay anywhere close to that price through our Insider Deal….
Get the 2023 Edition of the 4 bottle (1 bottle of each wine) Insider Deal “Perfect 10” Reds for $79.95 ($19.99/bottle)! That’s a discount of 53%!

Up first we’ve got the 2020 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Syrah which is 82% Syrah from the Pam York Vineyard of Fiddletown plus 14% Zinfandel and 4% Petite Sirah. Aged 20 months in French oak, just 462 cases were produced.
We are always more than happy to take advantage of Scott’s 45+ years of experience making excellent wine in Amador County especially when we get to do it for under $20. Wine Enthusiast evidently agrees, rating this wine at 92 points.
From the winery:
Tasting Notes: Varietal, dark color, pepper, boysenberry bramble, clove, fleshy, and extractive spicy flavors laced with firm tannins that carry through to the long soft finish.
Vineyard/Vintage Notes: Grown in the mountainous York Vineyard of Fiddletown, Amador County. This lava cap of steep rocky volcanic slopes of the Sierra-mountain terrain represents well Amador County’s ability to produce world-class Syrah. These mountain terroirs produce low yields of first-growth quality fruit.
Vintage: 2020 had an early bud break causing an early harvest with an even growing season without any heat spikes or prolonged cold spells. It produced an average-size to slightly larger than average-size crop of high-quality dark and flavorful fruit. Unlike last year, all the varieties fared well except Petite Sirah. A picture-perfect year for vines and fruit. Photos from this year will be the ones used in promotional materials for years to come.
Winemaker’s Notes: Produced in a drinkable fruit-forward and rich style. Aged 20 months in French oak cooperage to develop a well-rounded wine with firmly structured tannins for delicious drinkability.

The 2020 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Syrah opens with a very pleasing and expressive aroma of black cherry and other dark fruit plus vanilla, cola, licorice, cedar, mint and other spice, and a touch of a meaty note.
Taking a sip reveals just a lovely Syrah with juicy, concentrated dark fruit, tons of excellent vanilla notes, well-integrated and tasty spice, licorice and more. Yummy, yum! This wine has plenty of complexity, yet is still easy drinking and delicious. It gets even better after it has some air with the lovely fruit flavors becoming almost candied in this very dry wine (less than 2 g/L of residual sugar).
It ends dry and very, very long and savory with lots of lingering spice and vanilla. The spice in particular seems to build and build through the mid-palate and lasts forever on the finish. I love it.
It’s amazingly good for how young it is and while it should have quite a future ahead of it, it’s almost irresistible now so good luck saving some for the future! It was just as good on day 2.

Up next, we’ve got the 2020 Peachy Canyon MS Behave Malbec. This 100% Malbec is love at first sip! It comes from two vineyards in Paso Robles, 51% from the Mustang Springs Ranch and 49% from the Old Schoolhouse Vineyard. Just 368 cases were produced.
We’re delighted to welcome Peachy Canyon Winery to our Insider Deals for the first time, and what a wine they’ve brought to us, rated at 93 points by Vinous.
From the winery:
This wine packs an opaque, inky, dark purple hue. Aromas of dark berry cobbler on the nose are revealed on the elegant palate brimming with black currants and tapenade and lead to a long finish with well-integrated tannins.
Winemaking Notes: The lion’s share of Malbec for Ms Behave 2020 was the result of a single fermentation of Old Schoolhouse Malbec that took place in a concrete tank. Smaller portions of fruit came from the dry-farmed hills at Mustang Springs Ranch. When it came time to press all these Malbec lots, the initial free-run juices from the concrete fermentation were drained into a concrete pyramid where they aged until blending. Most of the Malbec outside of the concrete pyramid lived in new and used French puncheons and barrels. Several neutral American oak barrels were used as well to help give this Malbec the thick and weighty mouthfeel that the finished product shows. Once blended in July of 2021, this wine was barreled down into 40% new, 60% used French and Hungarian oak barrels to marry until bottling in July of 2022.

Pouring dark and inky in the glass, the 2020 Peachy Canyon MS Behave Malbec begins with big, succulent aromas of dark berry fruit, lots of spice, cedar, licorice, vanilla and more that draw you right into the glass.
Tasting instantly reveals a big, delicious wine that is loaded with dark fruit and lovely spice. Thick and nicely tannic, this is love at first sip! All those other notes from the nose also combine wonderfully in the mouth. What a find this is.
It ends dry, thick, chewy, juicy and very, very long. We love it! It was just as good on day 2.

For the third wine in today’s 4-pack, we’re turning to the definition of a classic Cabernet, the 2021 Meadowcroft Wyldvin Vineyard Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Why pay Napa prices, when you can get the same quality for so much less through today’s deal? This wine has a hefty SRP of $55, but this level of quality would probably run you 3 times as much in Napa.
This is a big wine in every respect except the production – only 184 cases were made!
From the winery:
Tasting Notes: Fruity, juicy, smooth – this bold and rich Cabernet opens with baked cherries, tobacco leaf, Jamon Iberico, and wet stone. The tannins are prominent and are complemented by suggestions of coriander, berry preserves, chocolate cake, caramel, and fresh clove. Drink now until 2029. Decant or cellar to fully reveal this wine’s complex nature.
Food Pairing: Traditional pairings like a burger with grilled mushrooms and melted cheese, beef stew or pot roast make a wonderful match. The hint of smoked ham on the palate would pair deliciously with Jamon Reserva & dried fruits.

The 2021 Meadowcroft Wyldvin Vineyard Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon pours super dark and inky in the glass. It begins with classic Cab aromas of dark fruit, vanilla, cedar, licorice and lots of assorted spice notes.
It only takes one sip to know this is the good stuff! It has incredible depth and is loaded with rich, juicy fruit and chewy, almost thick tannins. There are also lovely layers of spice, vanilla, licorice and more throughout. I would have definitely picked this for Napa in a blind tasting. It’s uber-delicious and it gets even better as it has air with some underlying mineral notes coming out.
It ends dry, chewy and very long. Yummy yum yum! It was similar on day 2. This would be a steal even at twice our price!

And finally, we’ve got the wine we dubbed “drinkability defined” when we offered the 2019 earlier this year, the 2020 Wrath 115/667 San Saba Vineyard Pinot Noir.
This 100% Pinot Noir comes from the San Saba estate vineyard in Monterey, just below the Santa Lucia Highlands, and is made up of 53% clone 115 and 47% clone 667.
20% of the wine went through whole cluster fermentation and the whole thing was aged for 10 months in French oak (20% new) before being bottled and let to rest for another 12 months. Only 728 cases were produced. Master Sommelier Catherine Fallis at Planet Grape rates it at 93 points.
From the winery:
Sourced from only estate grown grapes, our 2020 Pinot Noir 115/667 has a distinctive spicy character that energizes the dark cherry and mineral tones in this bottling. Made in a fresh, lively and pure style with loads of character.
Our Estate San Saba Vineyard is set in a sheltered nook just below the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. This is a cool site with little rainfall and one of the longest growing seasons in the world.
Our soils, Arroyo Gravelly Loam and Hanford Gravely Sandy Loam, provide a low-vigor, well-draining, disease- and pest-free medium for our vines. They also impart a subtle mineral quality to our wines. To preserve our local ecosystem, we have worked with viticultural consultant Steve McIntyre to develop a CCVT certified sustainable farming program (SIP) tailored to our estate. In addition to protecting the local environment, we believe it allows us to produce wines that are more authentic and specific to our terroir.
