Don’t miss these 4 Bulk Buy rated wines, all in one deal!

Plus, check out our new gift note options (including video messages) at checkout!

Our first two “Perfect 10” packs were a smashing success, so today we are delighted to roll out our third, the 2024 edition, with four more amazing wines.

As a reminder these collections consist of multiple wines from different wineries, all in one deal. It is not a flash deal, like most of what we offer, but instead is available for you to take advantage of as long as inventory is available. We like to consider these assortments our “Reverse Wine Club” as you are welcome to order as often as you like without any commitment at all.

Here’s what the 2024 Edition of the “Perfect 10” Reds 4-Pack includes:

  • The big, bold 2019 Gard Lawrence Estate Cabernet Sauvignon from the Royal Slope AVA in Washington State. Normally priced at $45 a bottle, this cellar-worthy Cab is aged 20 months in 75% new French oak. Rich and extremely satisfying, only 620 cases were produced.
  • The $45 estate 2019 Desert Wind Heritage Series Merlot, a beautiful, smooth, juicy, dusty example of the variety from the Wahluke Slope. Aged 19 months in neutral French oak, only 325 cases were produced.
  • One of the very best examples of Syrah we tasted in the last several years, the 2019 Onesta Golden Vineyard Syrah. This is probably our favorite wine from winemaker Jillian Johnson DeLeon, which is really saying something as we’ve given several of them Perfect 10 Taste Ratings. Aged 24 months in French oak and also extremely small production, it normally retails for $45.
  • And finally, a wine from one of our very favorite wineries, the 2017 Peterson Winery GSM Blend from their Bradford Mountain Estate Vineyard. A blend of 50% Grenache, 33% Syrah, and 17% Mourvedre aged 22 months in 50% new French oak, this is pure Rhone. Super savory and with lovely complexity, only 150 cases were produced. Again, it normally retails for $40.

All four wines have Perfect 10 Taste Ratings (94+ points) and BULK BUY Overall Ratings and together they have an SRP of $175. As usual you won’t pay anywhere close to that price through our Insider Deal….

Get the 2024 Edition of the 4 bottle (1 bottle of each wine) “Perfect 10” Reds for $79.95 ($19.99/bottle)! That’s a discount of 54%!

Let’s take a look at each wine. Up first we’ve got the 2019 Gard Lawrence Estate Cabernet Sauvignon a big, serious estate Cabernet from our friends at Gard Vintners.

This wine is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc from the Lawrence Estate vineyard in the Royal Slope AVA. Aged 20 months on 75% new French oak, this is rich and extremely satisfying now but will also continue to improve in your cellar for the next 5-10 years.

2019 Gard Lawrence Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

From the winery:

The Wine: Lots of dark and red fruit on the nose, the 19 Cabernet Sauvignon begins with blackberry compote, raspberry jam, mocha, sandalwood, and potpourri. Swirling brings riper fruit and spices, with figs, dark cherry, oak spice, cardamom and eucalyptus. The mouthfeel has great sweetness and concentration, with remarkable structure and a beautiful acid lift. The oak presentation here is elegant, and the tannins are very fine. Wine finishes long, with the perfect amount of grip. Drink now or in the next 8 years.

The Vineyard: Gård Vintners wines are 100% estate grown sustainably at Lawrence Vineyards, featuring 14 distinct vineyard sites. With elevations that range 870 feet to 1,675 feet and primarily south-facing slopes, Lawrence Vineyards provide a great framework for grape production, while the diversity of each of the locations delivers a high level of complexity to Gård wines. Lawrence Vineyards is certified sustainable.

2019 Gard Lawrence Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Back Label

And now on to our review:

The 2019 Gard Lawrence Estate Cabernet Sauvignon opens with very pleasing aromas of black cherry, plum and other dark fruits plus lots of varied spice. Notes of black tea, cigar box and licorice also add intrigue. It’s a great start.

It only takes one sip to know this is a fantastic example of Washington State Cab. Big, full-bodied, bold and even a bit meaty, the wine features more dark fruit plus all those other touches from the nose. With a smooth and chewy texture, this is very satisfying for the Cabernet lover.

It ends dry and quite long with lots of lingering spice and cola notes under the rich, dark fruit. It was even a bit better on day 2.

There’s a good amount of oak influence as you would expect with 2 years in 75% new French oak, which we very much enjoy, but it should also continue to harmonize over the next few years. (Which is pretty incredible since we’re already rating this a 10.) As good as it is now, don’t be afraid to forget about a few bottles in your cellar.

Up next, we’ve got the 2019 Desert Wind Heritage Series Merlot, a special bottling of Merlot (75%) from two of the best blocks in the vineyard that also includes 15% Syrah, 9% Carménère and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is aged 19 months in neutral French oak and only 325 cases were produced.

2019 Desert Wind Heritage Series Merlot

From the winery:

WINEMAKING NOTES: The 2019 growing season started off slow due to winter storms that lasted into February, but consistently warm and sunny days in the summer put growth back on track. The overall heat accumulation remained just above average for Washington. Overall, the 2019 vintage showcased a fairly typical vintage in the area, which is a good sign for the consistency and quality of the resulting wines. The Heritage Series Merlot is made from two of our best blocks in our estate vineyard, which we believe best show a unique expression of Merlot in Washington. The grapes were harvested in October and fermented in open top bins, then aged for 19 months in neutral French oak barrels.

VINEYARD NOTES: The Wahluke Slope AVA is located in south-central Washington and is considered one of the warmer regions in the state. Our 480 acre Desert Wind Estate Vineyard is south-facing, with a gradual two percent slope ranging from 800 to 1,000 feet in elevation. The deep, rocky soil allows for excellent drainage, stressing the vines and allowing focused energy on fruit production. The resulting wines are highly pigmented and have excellent tannin structure.

TASTING NOTES: Plum confiture, dark cherry marmalade, and cinnamon stick. Swirling brings orange peel and baked apples. The mouthfeel is very round and almost sweet, with beautiful texture, fine tannins, and pleasant acidity. Flavors of black licorice and baking spice come along with a very juicy palate. A beautiful expression of Merlot from a warm site that you can enjoy now or in the next 10 years.

2019 Desert Wind Heritage Series Merlot Back Label

And now on to our review:

The 2019 Desert Wind Heritage Series Merlot opens with a very harmonious and inviting aroma of dark berry fruit, beautiful baking spice, a little licorice and touches of graphite.

Tasting reveals the wine to be beautifully smooth, round and mouth-filling. It features similar flavors to the nose with great depth on the beautiful, juicy fruit. And it gets even better as it has more air.

Dusty tannins lead into the dry, long, juicy, grippy and satisfying finish. It was just as good on day 2. Excellent! This is a wonderful example of Merlot from one of the very best spots for it.

For the third wine in today’s 4-pack, we’ve got an absolute beauty, the 2019 Onesta Golden Vineyard Syrah. Let’s find out a bit more about what makes this wine so special.

First, there’s the vineyard – the Fairbairn Ranch of the Golden Vineyard in Mendocino.

The Native American Pomo people gathered in this place the called Sanel living in complete harmony with the land. Today, the Fairbairn Ranch’s 22 acres of award-winning Syrah are rooted in the Redvine sandy loam soils of Mendocino County just east of Hopland. Initially planted in 1986 and farmed organically, then replanted with Syrah in 1994 and farmed under Biodynamic® practices ever since, nearly 20,000 vines rise gently along a northwesterly slope. Fairbairn Ranch vines produce an average of 70 tons per year of this popular Rhone varietal or just over 3 tons per acre.

As you may have noted, this vineyard is planted bio-dynamically and certified as such by Demeter. While that means it is organic, the Biodyanmic certification goes much beyond that:

While all of the organic requirements for certification under the National Organic Program are required for Biodynamic certification, the Demeter standard is much more extensive, with stricter requirements around imported fertility, greater emphasis on on-farm solutions for disease, pest, and weed control, and in depth specifications around water conservation and biodiversity.

Add to all that the expert winemaking of Jillian Johnson DeLeon including fermenting with 20% whole cluster fruit and 2 years in French oak and we have a winner! This is one of the very best examples of Syrah we’ve tasted in the last several years. It easily gets a 10 Taste Rating (94+ points). And through today’s Insider Deal you won’t pay anywhere near the normal price of $45.

2019 Onesta Golden Vineyard Syrah

From the winery:

100% Syrah hand harvested in the early morning fog, processed with gentle fruit handling to preserve fruit flavors. Whole cluster fermentation at about 20% gives a fresh sage note and added mouthfeel. We ferment at moderate temperatures and give the wine extra time on skins (extended maceration) to balance out the tannin profile. After fermentation, the Syrah was aged in French oak barrels for 2 years before bottling.

Mendocino is a beautiful growing region for wine grapes; warm days for ripening fruit and cool coastal fog rolls in at night from the rugged North Coast beaches, only 50 miles as the crow flies. Golden Vineyards is home to two ranches in Mendocino county located just east of Hopland, California. The Fairbairn Ranch Syrah vines are rooted in sandy loam soils, planted in 1994. The farming technique is one step beyond Organic – Biodynamic. Biodynamic farming treats the ranch as a whole organism, with mixed agriculture to support a healthy ecosystem and a focus on soil health for vine longevity. Biodynamic farming allows the vines to produce wines with a natural balance and deep expression of the land.

TASTING NOTES: The Syrah is filled with juicy plum, blackberry, and blueberry. Hints of lavender, sage and white pepper compliment the fruit. After time in the glass the earthy and meaty aromas release notes of graphite and maple smoked bacon. Two years aging in French oak barrels give the wine notes of vanilla and baking spice. The complexity of this wine comes to fruition on the palate with firm tannins and a velvety long finish.

FOOD PAIRINGS: Roast leg of lamb, grilled pork chops, butternut squash ravioli in brown butter sage sauce, braised short ribs, hard cheeses like aged Gouda, and don’t forget dark chocolate.

2019 Onesta Golden Vineyard Syrah Back Label

And now on to our review:

The 2019 Onesta Golden Vineyard Syrah opens with a lovely, vibrant, deep and harmonious aroma that grabs your attention and won’t let go. Attractive dark fruit with excellent touches of spice, herbs, floral notes, licorice and more are just a prelude as it gets even better from here.

Taking a sip reveals a super savory and delicious wine with great depth on the dark fruit. All the touches from the nose also appear in the mouth along with excellent balance and structure. This is a fantastic example of Syrah!

It ends dry, super long, savory, vibrant, a bit grippy and dusty on the wonderful, uber-delicious finish. We could go on but there aren’t enough superlatives in the dictionary for this wine. It was just as outstanding on day two.

And finally, we’ve got a wonderful GSM blend from the wizards at Peterson Winery, the 2017 Peterson Bradford Mountain Vineyard GSM. No stranger to our All Star Intro and “Perfect 10” packs, it’s always a treat to offer one of their wines and this blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre rivals the best of the Rhone Valley in France.

Aged 22 months in 50% new French oak barrels and 50% 4-8 year-old neutral oak barrels, it has also spent several years refining in the bottle and is now tasting magnificently. Made with the winery’s “Zero Manipulation” philosophy (no additives, fining or filtering) this is the definition of savory.

2017 Peterson Winery GSM Blend

From the winery:

Tasting Notes: Dark red fruit aromatics swirled with a subtle spicy blend foretell the deliciousness discovered on the palate. Subtle spicy cedar notes weave through deep lush flavors of black raspberry, strawberry and Bing cherry. The luscious fruit is balanced with an integrated tannin and oak structure that shows a bit of muscle in the broad finish as traces of baking spices and black pepper appear.

Vineyard Notes: When we replanted the Bradford Mountain Estate Vineyard in 2007, we were inspired to try different grape varieties. After multiple trips to the Rhone Valley of Southern France, the inspiration to plant Grenache was solidified. Without experience growing the varietal in our mountain vineyard, or making much in the winery, we weren’t sure what expression the resulting wines would put forward. Now we know. The Grenache from the mountain produces a high quality wine with all the classic characteristics of great Grenache—soft, luscious fruit, pepper and licorice spice, and some of the garriguey flavors, with the essence of minerality from the site coming through.

Winemaker Notes: Along with the Grenache, the wine has classic components of Syrah and Mourvèdre, balancing the wine beautifully and giving it potential to age for at least 7-10 years.

Food Pairing Notes: A rich, hearty beef stew or pork tenderloin with pears and shallots will pair well with this fruit-forward yet robust Rhône blend.

Peterson Winery GSM Blend Back Label

And now on to our review:

The 2017 Peterson Winery GSM Blend begins with lots of black cherry, strawberry, Maraschino cherry and spice notes with an amazing savory element to it even in the aroma. It’s a wonderful, aromatic and enticing start.

If you love the Peterson Vignobles we’ve offered many times in the past, you’ll love this one too – it’s even more pure Rhone. Super savory and wonderfully balanced when tasting, it has absolutely no residual sugar but oh so much flavor! Packed with sweet fruit notes and a smooth, mouth-coating texture, it’s almost too easy to sip but also has a lovely complexity throughout.

It ends dry, extremely long and grippy and I love it. It was just as good on day 2.

Cheers,
Jon

Here’s what people are saying about our Insider Deals:

I’ve bought a ridiculous amount of wine from your deals in the last year…I just want to say that I really appreciate what you guys have done with RWS. I discovered your site looking up Costco wine reviews and have been hooked on your insider deals ever since. I’ve been referring every friend I know.

I have been buying your Insider Deals for about 3 years now and we have enjoyed every one of them. They are wines that we never would have found on our own…

The only thing I have ever been disappointed in with an Insider Deal is that I didn’t purchase more.

I recently took advantage of your offer. So glad I did, and now sorry I did not buy more (like all those quotes on your website!)

the wine is, in a single word, superb! as have been all other wines offered and purchased since I first learnt about you…

love them all so far…Glad we ran across you. Too bad we can not order them all.

Also your prices are pretty amazing.

Hey Jon! You do great work. I’ve bought a bunch of the Insider Deals and probably 80% of the wine I drink comes from them. Great values!

Jon, this is a wonderful wine all around. You have become our go-to person for wonderful wines and wine values. Please keep up the excellent job that you’re doing! Regards, a very satisfied customer.

I opened up our first bottle last weekend and was blown away.

Wow!! Just got my shipment. It is absolutely tremendous.

Hi Jon, Best thing I ever did is buy wine thru you…not been disappointed with any of them! Thank you SO MUCH!

Would you happen to be offering this one again anytime soon? I regret not buying more. This was exceptional!

I am seriously considering having the Insider Deals as my primary go-to. Why did I not do this sooner? Thank you

I love this wine I bought from you!!!! Thanks for doing what do do!!!

This an absolutely amazing wine, Jon…You’ve outdone yourself!

Thanks Jon. We already drank all 6 of the first order so we were ecstatic to see you offering it again. My wife and I both love it.

You are a man after my own heart. I have always looked for the best and least expensive wine and you just made it easier. Cheers!

Hi Jon, well, I did something people have warned about – bought 6 bottles and should have bought 12!

Have had nothing but great bottles since I started ordering your recommendations. Thanks so much!

We’ve gotten in on three of the deals and have been VERY happy with the value. I originally was going to do a wine club thing but the insider deal appeals to me much more.

The shipping on the Insider Deals is another great part of the deal. We recently paid $27 to a winery in California to ship 6 bottles (same packaging as the insider deals)….yikes!

Just got my 6 bottles and having my first glass. WHY, WHY didn’t I buy a case??!!

I really missed the boat by only getting four bottles of this offer last month. Should have bought least at a case.

My wife and I have really enjoyed getting to know new wines (and better than we used to buy!) Thanks for what you do and providing this service!

Jon – you have to stop offering all of these amazing deals. My self discipline is fading fast!!

The wine is outstanding. I am so glad I bought a case.

I only drink Reverse Wine Snob wine, it actually doesn’t make sense to buy from a store. You don’t get anything interesting, unique, and full of value otherwise.

Jon, I should have bought more! Delicious!!

I am a Certified Specialist of Wine. I love your deals. You pick great wines!! Kudos to you for getting us great deals!

Wish I would have ordered more!! It was great. Looking back, I wish I didn’t open it at our annual pool party. It’s gone. **Sob**

Hi Jon, just had to let you know that I love this wine!!!! Thanks for doing what you do.

I have purchased many times over the last several months and loved the wines!

Seriously amazing deal!!! I love a bold red, and Reverse Wine Snob delivered!!! Perfect for a rainy night!!

AMAZING!! Damn, I should have bought a CASE!!

WOW. Just… wow. Absolutely delicious. If I knew it was going to be this good, I would have bought a case… or two. This was dead-center in the sweet spot of what I like. Thank you!!

I have loved all my RWS deals, can’t wait to get this one.

I know that you don’t need to have ‘customers’ email you every time they like a wine that you have suggested/rated, and I have enjoyed many of your recommendations. But this Tannat was spectacular! Wow! That was amazing!

I finally opened a bottle of this and it did not disappoint. Delicious!!!

Thanks for a great service! We’ve been loving your emails and wine deals!

This insider deal is a great wine!!! So glad I got it!!

I’ve gotten quite a few of these and loved them all — keep them coming!

I am very much enjoying the wines I have been getting from you. I have discontinued all other wine services as the quality of the wines you select seem superior to what I was receiving elsewhere.

Bought a case wish I had purchased 2-3 cases. Fantastic buy for the price.

I love your approach to wine and all the great wine finds out there. It’s tempting to order almost every time you send out a deal. Keep up the great work, truly appreciated.

Wish I had doubled my order!
