The 2022 Pont Neuf “La Source” Pinot Noir exhibits brilliant, deep red-violet glints in the glass. While carrying plenty of weight, La Source remains vinous and transparent, making it a pleasure to drink. More terroir-driven than ripe and easy Californian in nature, it is marked by pure aromas of cassis and fragrant raspberry fruit mingled with woodsy, truffled aromas, accents of cinnamon and violets. Rigorous limiting of yields in the early development of the grapes was the key to heightened quality.
Luxurious and powerful, La Source has impressive weight, texture and presence in the glass. The wine is un-fined and unfiltered, using natural ferments. The clonal material is from Vosne-Romanée.
100% French Oak from the Tronçais Forest was employed, the oak air-dried 4 years, for the ultimate in balance and finesse. The La Source was bottled after 14 months in barrel.
Grown on a rolling ridge dividing Russian River and the Sonoma Coast, Silver Eagle Vineyard, just 5 miles from the Pacific, the wine enjoys the best of both climates. La Source is the perfect balance of gentle, seductive fruit classic to Russian River and the world-class structure and texture typical of wines from the near-ocean vineyards.

The 2022 Pont Neuf “La Source” Russian River Valley Pinot Noir opens with a savory, very harmonious aroma of dark ripe berry fruit, cedar, violets and lovely baking spice touches throughout. It’s a fantastic start.
The wine does indeed taste Burgundian and is explosively good with a silky smooth texture, well-integrated spice throughout, great balance and similar flavors to the nose. And it just keeps getting better the longer it is open.
It ends dry and savory on the very long and lingering finish. It was just as good on day 2. This is absolutely lovely! It’s quite age-worthy but also amazingly good right now so you really can’t go wrong either drinking it now or holding it.
