2019 Rutherford Ranch Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2019 Growing Season started with an abundance of rainfall and late soil moisture. The long, warm summer saw very extreme heat events, with foggy mornings setting the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The long, relatively mild finish to the season helped to preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit with abundant hang time teasing out great color, structure and soft tannins. Yields were average to a little below average. All in all, exceptional fruit with bright acidity and ample texture promises an amazing vintage.
The base of our 2019 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is from the world-renowned Rutherford appellation, which is home to our Abela and Franklin estate vineyards. Perfect climatic conditions and the region’s deep, loamy, well-drained soils produce dark, intensely flavored Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Our rich soil sets the foundation for an exquisite, cellar ready wine that will evolve in character and quality for years to come.
Food Pairing: This Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful complement to mushroom tapenade upon a garlic crostini, parmesan truffle risotto, or peppercorn crusted ribeye steak.
Aromas & Flavors: The 2019 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of cassis, black pepper and fresh floral notes. Flavors of dark chocolate-covered blueberries, cherry cola, brandied cherries and raspberry puree on the palate. Integrated, silky tannins with just a bit of oak influence lead to a long, round finish.

The 2019 Rutherford Ranch Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with an intoxicating aroma of dark fruit, spice and vanilla plus touches of chocolate, mint, cedar, pencil lead, graphite and more. You find something new every time you take a sniff!
The wine tastes deep, tannic and chewy right now and has tons of structure. It’s absolutely delicous with similar flavors to the nose and lots of well integrated spice. This one has a long life ahead of it!
It ends dry, quite long and grippy and was just as good on day 2. This is a stellar example of Napa Valley Cabernet that can age and even improve for at least another 10 years. Stock up Napa Caba lovers!

This Rutherford Ranch Reserve was fantastic! It had that classic Cabernet Sauvignon flavor. I wish I had bought more.
Unlike some other RWS wines I have taken a chance on, this one delivered the goods. Nice wine... everything you would expect from a Napa valley wine.
It’s rare to find a wine with a score of 93 for $20 and be 6 years in the bottle! Yes, I would buy again because the best drinking is still ahead for this one.

This, like Hero, is among the best you've ever offered, in my wife's and my opinion. Has a superb nose, dry but lasting rich taste, complementing cheese and any red meat.

This was a good, solid wine and worth the money. Expectations were a little higher due to the pedigree, but the wine was a good solid wine, especially given the price tag. Said everything it needed to say about a good Napa Wine, but at a price that is usually reserved something just above a jug wine from Napa/Rutherford.
