Summer 2025 Shipping Options
We have both a Summer Shipping option (with heat protection) and a Summer Hold option. Our priority over the summer is to get your wine to you safely should you choose to have it shipped! Here are the details on both options:
Summer Ship (+$8) – Includes heat protection (styrofoam), freeze packs (when necessary), an upgrade to UPS 2-day shipping to minimize transit time when your order ships, and packages will only ship Monday through Wednesday to avoid them sitting somewhere hot over a weekend.
Because we’re only shipping at the beginning of the week, summer ship orders may take a bit more time to ship after the conclusion of the offer (likely 5-12 days rather than our normal 5-10).
These orders have an additional cost of $8 built into the product price for this Heat Protection Package. It is NOT possible (nor would it be advisable!) to purchase a deal with summer shipping without also including the Heat Protection Package.
Summer Hold (No Extra Charge) – Buy your wine now and have your shipment held (at no extra charge) for delivery in October! While we take every precaution we can with our Summer Shipping protocol, we also know that many of you travel or live in very hot areas where you don’t want to risk it (or you simply detest styrofoam).
Please note this is not a “ship-at-will” program, all your summer hold orders will ship (in cardboard/no styrofoam) at a date of our choosing in mid-October once temperatures have cooled down. Please read this post for important info to determine if the Summer Hold program is right for you.
Both Summer Ship and Summer Hold orders will incur the flat $7.99 shipping charge per order, no matter how many packs you buy. If this is your first time ordering please check out the shipping section of our FAQ for more information.
For your convenience you also have the option to select a UPS Store to ship to at checkout (with no extra fees) so you don’t have to be home to sign! For Summer Hold orders whatever shipping location option you choose at checkout (ship to home or ship to UPS Store) will apply in October.

Clicking on the Add To Cart button above will take you to our checkout at shop.reversewinesnob.com. Once there you can adjust the quantity of 3-packs in your order. Ends Friday 9/5/2025 at noon (PT).
Up first we have the 2022 Sojourn Cellars Wohler Vineyard Pinot Noir. You will receive one bottle in today’s 3-pack.
From the winery:
THE VINEYARD: Replanted in 2006, Wohler Vineyard in Forestville sits in the heart of the famed Russian River Valley, within sight of the Russian River and the historic Wohler Bridge. The combination of climate and Goldridge Series soils provides an environment well suited for growing ultra-premium Pinot Noir. We source grapes from three distinct blocks within the vineyard. Our blocks of clones 667 and 828 sit at the highest elevation and are the best-draining blocks on the property. The Wädenswil 2A clone is planted in cooler, lower spots within the vineyard where the soils contain more clay. Each block offers unique characteristics and an array of blending options with each vintage.
WINEMAKER NOTES: A warm 2022 summer brought one of the earliest harvests on record in the Sonoma Coast, with a September heat wave influencing some picking decisions. Cooler pockets of the Sonoma Coast fared well through the heat and the resulting wines offer depth and finesse. Yields were miniscule, with many vineyards breaking records on the low side for cluster weights. The resulting wines have concentrated flavors with tension and length. In 2022 we harvested Wohler Vineyard in multiple passes, fermenting each block separately. We also co-fermented small portions of the steepest ends of the clone 828 and 667 blocks. This lot formed the foundation of the 2022 blend. Clones 667 and 828 provided rich fruit and density while the Wädenswil 2A component added earthy notes and structure.

And now on to our review:
The 2022 Sojourn Cellars Wohler Vineyard Pinot Noir needs a bit of time to open up but then reveals itself to be quite beautiful. There’s black cherry, black tea, cinnamon, tomato plant, mint, eucalyptus, forest floor, touches of cranberry and more – it seems like there’s something new every time you take a sniff. It’s a wonderful start.
Tasting the wine shows it to be smooth, dense and flavorful. It features juicy fruit and all the myriad of flavors from the nose as well as good acidity, great structure and wonderful balance. This is an absolute pleasure to drink. It’s easy to see why this normally costs so much.
It ends dry and very, very long and was similar on day 2 where it may have lost a few of the touches from the nose but the finish was even longer.

Next we have the 2022 Sojourn Cellars Riddle Vineyard Pinot Noir. You will receive one bottle in today’s 3-pack.
From the winery:
THE VINEYARD: Riddle Vineyard is located in Green Valley of the West Sonoma Coast near the town of Occidental. Situated high upon a ridge top with a gentle south facing slope, the vineyard overlooks many of the iconic vineyards of the region. Mornings tend to be foggy, yet the fog burns off early, allowing the vines to be drenched in warm sun the rest of the day. Planted in 2008 at a high density with 3.5’ x 6’ spacing on exceptional Goldridge soils, the vine roots stretch deep in the soils looking for nutrients and water. This provides for deep, complex flavors. Riddle is planted to a mixture of Pinot noir clones 115, Pommard and a distinctive Mt. Eden clone, which was taken as original bud wood from a prominent vineyard planted along California’s Central Coast.
Riddle Vineyard’s close proximity to the Pacific Ocean allowed for longer hang times through the moderate heat waves. Mt Eden clone provided a robust foundation of red fruit and intensity. Pommard clone is featured more prominently in 2021, offering silky texture and earth notes to balance the rich fruit and structure of the 115 clone.

And now on to our review:
The 2022 Sojourn Cellars Riddle Vineyard Pinot Noir opens wonderfully with succulent aromas of black cherry, plum, blackberry, lots of varied baking spice, mint, licorice and just a touch of earthiness. There’s a lot going on! I love it.
Taking a sip reveals this wine to be decadently delicious! And as good as it is right now, it also has plenty of structure to age. Silky smooth and lush, it’s juicy and rich with great depth and harmony. This is absolutely fabulous Pinot Noir with wonderful layers of fruit and spice.
It ends dry, rich, savory and very long. Did I mention that I love it?? While still very good on day 2, we found this wine to be at its absolute best on day 1 so I would take steps to preserve it if you don’t finish it day 1.

And finally we have the 2023 Sojourn Cellars Rodgers Creek Vineyard Pinot Noir. You will receive one bottle in today’s 3-pack.
From the winery:
THE VINEYARD: Rodgers Creek Vineyard is well-suited for Pinot Noir, sitting high on a ridge in the heart of the Petaluma Gap, and taking the full brunt of wind and thick fog that define this cool climate zone. A hillside block of Pommard Pinot Noir clone provides the foundation for this wine, with clone 667 adding a layer of bright fruit and lush textures. The vines grow in light, chalky volcanic ash soils on steep inclines. This causes natural vine stress and gives the wine high concentration levels. The combination of unique soils and dominance of the Pommard clone results in a distinctive wine with signature aromatic notes of earth and mushroom each vintage.
WINEMAKER NOTES: In 2023, plentiful winter rains took Sonoma out of a drought. A cool summer allowed the vines to ripen at an even pace and the weather stayed moderate during the growing season with periodic light rains. Harvesting started three weeks later than normal and Pinot Noir yields were above average. The cooler weather resulted in fresh natural acidity and firmer tannins, both good for cellaring. Grape phenolics ripened at lower sugar levels and the resulting 2023 Pinot Noirs are more “Burgundian” in nature. Rodgers Creek Vineyard benefited from 2023 winter rains, developing strong canopies that allowed the grapes to hang well into October. We fermented a portion of both the Pommard and 667 whole cluster and the stem inclusion added a nice verve to the layers of lush red fruit and mature tannins.

And now on to our review:
The 2023 Sojourn Cellars Rodgers Creek Vineyard Pinot Noir opens with really beautiful berry fruit plus some zesty citrus notes, baking spice, floral notes, some pleasing minerality and forest floor notes. This is excellent! There’s lots going on once again.
The wine tastes smooth and juicy with great depth and balance. It features similar flavors to the nose, that combine very harmoniously in the mouth. This is another excellent Pinot Noir with great aging ability.
It ends dry, juicy and very long, with a bit of lingering sea salt minerality and it was even a bit better on day 2! This is wonderful.
Cheers,
Jon
