Description: Experience the bold character and complexity of the Zialena 2020 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that truly embodies the essence of a distinguished Cabernet. Pronounced notes of caramel oak are immediately noticeable, enriched by the sweet scent of dulce de leche. Rich notes of baked black plum are prominent, with savory undertones of cedar and cured meat, anise and fennel add an intriguing spice character culminating in a pretty, lingering finish.
Crafted for longevity, this wine can evolve beautifully over 10+ years in the cellar, promising continued development and enjoyment for years to come. Drink it with a high-heat pan fried steak or anything grilled.
Winemaking: The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is concrete fermented and aged 26 months in 100% new French Oak.
Mazzoni Vineyard, Since 1931 Our stunning 120-acre estate in Alexander Valley, is nestled between the Russian River and the Mayacama Mountains. The 2020 Zialena Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a deep, intoxicating aroma full of dark fruit, savory spice, cedar, anise, caramel, vanilla and much more. It’s a fantastic start!
Wow, this tastes good! My first thought is that this would go wonderfully with a burger. Featuring a very smooth mouthfeel and with similar flavors to the nose, the wine has great depth on the juicy fruit and well-integrated spice throughout plus great structure, acidity and balance. And as good as it is right now, it is still tasting a bit young. It’s easy to see this one has plenty of life and even more development ahead of it.
It ends dry and savory on the very long and lingering finish and was just as good on day 2. A certified Saturday Splurge!
