From the bottle:
Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley
Outlot – a plot of undeveloped land with boundless potential. Outlots around the country have been successfully converted to a number of uses – community garden, sustainable energy sources, and wildlife habitats among them. The very idea of boundless potential leads us to think of ways to create something exceptional.
And that idea of exceptional led to our Oak Knoll vineyards, found in the fertile and picturesque Napa Valley. From those possibilities comes a wine that leads with abundant dark fruit – think black currant and cherry and finishes with a strong yet supple structure that embodies the depth and richness of Napa Valley. Potential – realized.

The 2022 Outlot Oak Knoll Cabernet Sauvignon opens with attractive aromas of dark fruit, spice and plenty of cedar and other woodsy barrel room aromas.
The wine needs a couple hours to settle in but then a young, classic Cab is revealed. It features good structure, depth and acidity and has plenty of juicy fruit and spice when tasting. It’s smooth, dense and a bit chewy in a very satisfying way and it just keeps getting better as it has more air.
It ends dry, quite long and juicy on the lovely finish. It should be even better with a couple more years in the bottle too. By day 2 it was a bit riper, but otherwise similar.
