The Para Siempre blend consists of 46% Malbec, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon and 23% Petit Verdot from three vineyards in Paso Robles (47% Mustang Springs Ranch, 30% Old Schoolhouse Vineyard and 23% Snow Vineyard). Harvested in September of 2020 and bottled in July of 2022, it spends a significant amount of time in oak as well.

As we mentioned above, Wine Enthusiast loved this wine, scoring it at an incredible 94 points. We thought it was even a bit better than that giving it 95 points. In other words, this is rare territory. And normally you have to pay a pretty penny to buy it at $55 a bottle.

In 2020 new vines started producing fruit at Snow Vineyard, so by popular demand, Estate Grown Petit Verdot has made its way back into Para. Led by Malbec from both the Schoolhouse Vineyard and Mustang Spring Hills, this blend incorporates estate Cabernet Sauvignon from Mustang Springs and the aforementioned Petit Verdot from Snow Vineyard.

Each of these varieties was hand picked and carefully sorted prior to gentle destemming. Fermented in bins, these wines spent at least 14 days on skins prior to being softly pressed. Press cuts occurred the moment bitterness or astringency showed in the press wines. The pieces for Para Siempre 2020 were assembled in June of 2021 before being returned to 35% new French oak barriques to age an additional year prior to bottling in July of 2022.

Tasting Notes: Bright and lively, this wine is bursting with aromas of dark plum, dark chocolate and eucalyptus. The palate is flush with cacao, caramel, both black and blue fruits and fresh herbs.

The 2020 Peachy Canyon Para Siempre opens with an intoxicating aroma loaded with dark berry fruit, lovingly integrated spice and tons of fragrant floral notes. Wow, what a start!

Tasting reveals a dark, rich and juicy wine. I love it! Smooth and a bit chewy with dusty tannins throughout, this serious wine features a lovely, dynamic mouthfeel. The depth, complexity and overall high quality level here reminds me of Paper Street Narrator even though the blend is different. Chocolate, licorice, mint and other herbal notes all also emerge with time in the glass. Load up on this one for the holidays, folks! We know we are.

It ends with a dry, very long, grippy, juicy, savory, dynamic and unbelievably fantastic finish that goes on para siempre (forever). It was just as good on day two.
