The Best Wine From Virginia Under $20

One of the problems Reverse Wine Snobs encounter in many of the very small regions throughout the United States is that much of the wine made is priced above our $20 limit. This is simply because so little is made—there are no economies of scale. Virginia makes some excellent Viognier and Petit Verdot but the entire state makes as much as wine as one large winery in California!

Nevertheless, there is something to be said for drinking local so if you live in one of these smaller regions or are just visiting there, I do encourage you to check out your local wineries and give their wines a taste even if they are over $20.
