Not sure if you’ll be home for delivery? Don’t want to re-arrange your schedule to wait for a UPS delivery window they may not hit?
We get it. Shipping alcohol isn’t easy especially since it requires an adult to sign for it at the time of delivery. Well, we’ve heard your complaints and we’ve been hard at work implementing a solution in our checkout.
[Update 9/13/2025: Now shipping to more UPS Access Points!]
Today we are very excited to announce that you now have the option to have your Reverse Wine Snob Insider Deals shipped directly to a UPS Store or other authorized UPS Access Point WITH NO ADDITIONAL FEES. Just click on the Shipping Method section at checkout and select the location of your choice!
This new process is 100% UPS compliant and generates the UPS required hold at location label.

As some of you have unfortunately found in the past, simply entering a UPS Store address as your shipping address often results in packages being rejected, or UPS Stores demanding the dreaded $5-$10 additional fee at pick-up.
The reason for that is that the UPS Stores (which are mostly franchises, not corporate owned) don’t get a cut of the shipping revenue if you try to send it to the store directly. This is why you are also typically charged a $5-$10 fee if you try to redirect the package after the fact through the UPS MyChoice app – this is to compensate the store for their work. (We’re not defending this model, just explaining it.)
With our new 100% UPS approved method, which must be selected at the time of checkout, there are no additional fees as the Access Point gets a cut of the shipping revenue with this label.
Your package will then be shipped to the temperature controlled Access Point location of your choice and held for 7 days, to pick up at your convenience. You will receive notifications both when it has arrived and as it is nearing the end of the 7 day window.
Here’s how it works.
When you get to the final checkout screen, if the Shipping Method section is not already expanded, simply click on it.
That area will then expand showing up to three of your closest access point locations, with the same shipping cost as sending it to your home.
Simply select one of the three UPS Store options (or “Ship To Original Shipping Address/Not UPS Store” to send it to your home) and you’re all done!
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
- DIRECTLY ENTERING A UPS STORE ADDRESS WILL NOT PRODUCE THE CORRECT LABEL. You MUST select one of the UPS Store locations listed under the Shipping Method section.
 - If you did not select a UPS Access Point at checkout but would like to, there is now a small window in which you can do that. Please watch for an email from us/our partner (the email address will be “noreply@viadelivery.pro”). This email will give you the option to switch your order to a local UPS Store. The email should come immediately after checkout. Please choose one of the UPS Store options ASAP. This option is only available until the shipping label is printed. (We are also not able to make this switch for you, it must be completed by you through the email.)
 - If you use the email to switch your package to UPS Store shipping, there is also now an option to have your selection apply to all future shipments as well so you don’t have to worry about selecting a store in the future. If you enable this all future packages will be switched for you if you didn’t select a UPS Store at checkout (you’ll receive a notification each time).
 - Your package will be held for 7 days at the temperature controlled Access point location of your choice, to pick up at your convenience. This is a great option for vacations or during very hot or cold weather.
 - Not all UPS Access Points may be available, as alcohol is a restricted item and not all can accept it. Only those locations can accept alcohol will be shown as options. (Our database of allowed locations updates every day, so it is always up-to-date.)
 - Currently, checkout will show the three closest locations within 20 miles of your shipping address.
 - Don’t see the location you’re looking for? It may not be available for these shipments, or if you have a lot of locations nearby try adjusting your shipping address slightly to be closer to the location you want and it should populate in the list. (For example, if you want to pick up by your work, use your work address as the shipping address to see hold locations near there.)
 - If you’d still like the convenience of scheduling home delivery days or switching some packages to store pick-up after they ship you can always ship it your home (“Ship to Shipping Address”) and then use MyChoice app to do this. We recommend the $19.99 per year plan as it pays for itself if you redirect or reschedule more than 2 packages in a year.
 - When your package is ready for pickup you will receive an email notification. If not picked up you will also receive further notifications (email, text and phone) as your package nears the end of the 7-day hold period. Some of these notifications will come from our partner, Via.Delivery.
 - Please note, you will still have to show a government-issued photo ID showing you are over 21 in order to pick up your package from the Access Point location.
 - If you would like a friend or relative to pick up the package please put their name in the shipping address at checkout. They will need their ID as well as the tracking number of the package to pick it up for you.
 - If package is not picked up within 7 days, it will automatically be returned to our warehouse. Access Points are unable to hold packages for more than 7 days.
 - If the UPS Store tries to charge you for the package please point them to “D2R” (Direct to Retail) and the UPS store address near the bottom of the label above the “Special Delivery Instructions”. Since some stores don’t get many of these packages they don’t always look at the label carefully but they should understand once you point it out to them. If you still have problems after that, please let us know!
