Trader Joe's Grand Reserve Sonoma County Syrah Review

Syrah from Sonoma County, California.

This wine is available exclusively at Trader Joe’s and sells for just $12.99. As usual there’s not much info available on the wine but let’s check it ouy.

From the bottle:

Syrah
Sonoma County
Lot #133

Produced and Bottled by Bozzano & Co.
14.5% Alcohol

The 2022 Trader Joe’s Grand Reserve Sonoma County Syrah Lot 133 opens with aromas of black cherry and other dark fruit with some nicely integrated spice and a touch of forest floor, earthy note. It’s a pleasing start, perhaps a bit simple, but nice.

Tasting the wine reveals it to be not super complex but pretty tasty. This seems to be the theme with Trader Joe’s wines lately which is a-ok by us as it’s all about getting your money’s worth. It’s smooth and features juicy fruit and flavors similar to the nose.

It ends dry, long and grippy and was similar on day 2. This is an easy-drinking example of Syrah.
