Sauvignon Blanc from Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara, California. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel for 7 months.

After enjoying the Super Happy Cabernet Sauvignon-Sangiovese-Malbec from Trader Joe’s a few months ago, we were happy to see another wine in this line, from the same producer – Field Recordings in Paso Robles.

The 2023 Super Happy Sauvignon Blanc opens with a pleasing, quite attractive aroma of citrus, a little tropical fruit and some nice herbal notes.

Tasting reveals similar flavors to the nose with no grassiness at all but the wine is quite sour and tart. (Some might find the sourness off-putting, but we did not.) It also has a pleasing smooth and round mouthfeel.

It ends with a dry, long, lip-smacking finish. It certainly didn’t blow us away, but it’s decent for the price.
