The 2022 William Walker Winemaker’s Reserve Chardonnay begins with a pleasing, inviting aroma of vanilla cream, some tropical fruit, lemon and other citrus notes plus a bit of pear, a touch of toasty oak and more.
The wine tastes smooth, round and a bit creamy and features similar flavors to the nose with good fruit and a bit of toasty oak in the mouth. It’s really not complex at all, but still quite a pleasing example of Chardonnay. And while it does spend time in oak, it’s not buttery at all.
It ends dry, tangy and long on the finish.
