Just a few weeks ago we featured a Bulk Buy on a $6.99 Costco wine, the Kirkland Signature Rioja Reserva 2009. Believe it or not, today we’ve got another Bulk Buy at that exact same price point, this time from Portugal.

The 2012 Casaleiro Reserva begins with an enticing aroma of blackberry, black cherry, plum, spice and a little leather. Dry, firm tannins jump out when tasting this wine which also features tons of rich fruit, licorice, leather and even plenty of mineral notes. It might be lacking a little refinement but it’s a darn tasty wine for fans of fuller-bodied reds. On the mouth-drying finish the licorice, leather and mineral notes give way to lingering blackberry fruit. The wine was just as good on day two.
