From the bottle:
Named after the Chianti region of central Tuscany, this red wine is classically Italian. A medium-bodied wine with notes of red berries and violets. Enjoy with red meats and pasta. Best served at room temperature.

Pizza or pasta night on the cheap always presents a conundrum. You’re usually not spending much on your food and you’d like an equally inexpensive (but tasty!) wine to enjoy with it. Here’s a simple but good option from Aldi that has that authentic tart and rustic Chianti character.
The 2021 Adventure Series Chianti opens with lots of ripe red cherry, cranberry, leather, cedar and a little menthol. It’s simple but also a much more inviting aroma than it deserves to be for just $5.99.
Tasting the medium-bodied wine reveals a soft mouthfeel and similar fruit to the nose although it does need some air to open up. Well-balanced and with a little earthiness as well, this is simply a good basic Chianti at a great price. It’s a bit thin but goes great with Italian foods and makes a great option for pizza or pasta night on a tight budget.
The wine ends dry with a little lingering spice and was similar on day 2. It may be lacking depth, but this is still solid for the low price.
