The 2019 Comanche Cellars Dog & Pony Sangiovese needs a bit of time to open up but once it does, it is really attractive with notes of leather and black cherry plus touches of mint and licorice.
The medium-bodied wine tastes smooth with similar flavors to the nose and great structure. Delicious and savory, it features good acidity and nice touches of spice throughout. While great on its own, it also pairs wonderfully with all kinds of different foods.
It ends dry and long. This is a really tasty example of Sangiovese!
