Hook or Crook Cellars Field Blend Reserve Red – On the Up and Up

Last Updated on January 27, 2023

A legitimately tasty $6.99 Costco find, the Hook or Crook Cellars Field Blend Reserve Red.

Hook or Crook Cellars Field Blend Reserve Red - On the Up and Up

A red blend of undisclosed varieties from Lodi, California.

This wine has an SRP of $24 and an average price on wine-searcher of $16 but we grabbed it for just $6.99 at Costco.

From the bottle:

As we sat around the barrels in the cellar trying to figure out how we could source and produce an outstanding, affordable, quality driven Red Blend, one of our crew explained that ‘by Hook or by Crook’ we would make it happen…a brand was born!

Cellared and Bottled by Hook or Crook Cellars
13.9% Alcohol

The 2018 Hook or Crook Cellars Field Blend Reserve Red opens with a nose of dark berry and plum fruit plus licorice, leather and a little vanilla and chocolate. It’s a good aroma but a bit disjointed until it has some time to breathe.

Taking a sip reveals a smooth and tasty blend with a bunch of Zin influence. Easy to drink and with similar fruit to the nose, this is a solid choice. It ends dry and long.
