Up first, let’s take a look at the 2019 Gard Collection Series Stoneridge Vineyard Syrah. You will receive 1 bottle in today’s 3-pack. As we mentioned, this is the vineyard that produced the first 100-point wine (a Syrah) in Washington State.

From the winery:

The Vineyard: Stoneridge Syrah was planted in 2000 & 2013. 775 – 845 ft elevation. Row orientation: 0° north. South slope.

Soil profile: Ephrata fine sandy loam/Malaga cobbly sandy loam.

Tasting notes: Black fruit, sweet tobacco, and stone fruit aromas. The 2019 Stoneridge Syrah Collection is explosive on the nose, with savory and spiced notes. The wine opens to notes of cardamom, dry figs, and oak spice. The mouthfeel is full bodied, with huge volume and remarkable structure. Wine finishes extremely savory with notes of chartreuse liquor and lingering butterscotch. Enjoy now or in the next 10 years.

The 2019 Gard Collection Series Stoneridge Vineyard Syrah opens with a very attractive and cohesive aroma full of purple fruit and baking spice plus a little coffee, licorice, black pepper, and a touch of smokiness. It’s a fabulous start.

Taking a sip reveals a rich and deep wine with lots of secondary notes similar to the nose to go along with the juicy fruit. Smooth and dynamic, there are also continuing spice and smoky notes plus lots of black tea.

It ends dry, very long and very satisfying and was similar on day 2. What a great start to this 3-pack!

The Vineyard: Solaksen Syrah was planted in 2013. 1,380-1,445 ft elevation. Row orientation: 25° Northeast. Southeast slope.

Soil Profile: Taunton fine sand loam.

Tasting notes: Dark cherry, blackberry jam, and charcuterie notes. The 2019 Solaksen Syrah Collection has a sweet and meaty core surrounded by a floral lift. The wine opens to dark fruit marmalade, violets, and cedar wood. The mouthfeel is round and rich, with chalky tannins and persistent acidity. This plush Syrah shows remarkable texture and a beautifully sweet finish. Drink now or in the next 10 years.

The 2019 Gard Collection Series Solaksen Vineyard Syrah begins with a strong, aromatic, cohesive bouquet full of lovely dark berry fruit, licorice, smoked meat, a little mint and lots of other secondary touches. It’s another fabulous start!

Tasting the wine reveals it to be smooth, substantial and deep with similar flavors to the nose including more dark fruit and meaty notes. This is another excellent example of Syrah.

It ends dry and very long on the serious finish. I love it and it was just as good on day 2.

And finally we’ve got the 2019 Gard Collection Series Scarline Vineyard Syrah. You will receive 1 bottle in today’s 3-pack.

From the winery:

The Vineyard: Scarline Syrah was planted in 2004 & 2006. 1,415-1,560 ft elevation. Row orientation: 0° north. South slope.

Soil profile: Adkins very fine sandy loam.

Tasting notes: Bramble berries and ripe dark and black fruit, with a touch of menthol and flint. Swirling brings orange peel, cigar box, and wild herb aromas. The mouthfeel is sultry and complex, with beautiful texture, silky tannins, and tremendous length. The wine has a reductive composition, so the more you swirl the better it gets. A fantastic Syrah that you can enjoy now or in the next 10 years.

The 2019 Gard Collection Series Scarline Vineyard Syrah opens with a complex, inviting aroma featuring dark fruit, wintergreen, wild herbs, tobacco, licorice, a little smoked meat and even more. It seems like there is something new every time you take a sniff. What a start!

Taking a sip reveals a dynamic, lively, layered and lovely wine full of juicy dark fruit plus all those other touches from the nose. It is drinking great right now but it also phenomenal aging potential as well. This is another very serious rendition of Syrah and I love it.

It ends dry, very long, juicy and grippy on the delicious finish and was just as good on day 2. You don’t want to miss this special 3-pack!
