Sonoma County is a geographic symphony of mountains, hills and coastline. This rich terrain allows the region’s wine growers to produce wine with as much depth and complexity as the land it comes from.
Our dark and succulent Cabernet offers layers of flavors from deep blackberry, cherry and cassis to warm spice notes. With medium density, a balanced palate and a nice integration of oak, this wine captures the essence of Sonoma County.
This wine pairs well with grilled lamb chops and barbecued spareribs This Cabernet Sauvignon is best enjoyed at about 60 degrees.
14.5% Alcohol
At $13.99 this was the most expensive wine we bought on our recent exploration of Aldi. Let’s see if it’s worth money.
The 2016 Peaks & Tides Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a very enticing aroma of black cherry, blackberry, plum, spice, licorice and a little vanilla. This is certainly starting off well.
The wine tastes smooth with lots of rich, juicy dark fruit and really well-integrated spice. With great balance and touches of licorice and vanilla, this is a classic Cab, done really well.
Some oaky spice leads into the dry, long finish. It’s definitely worth the $13.99 price tag.
