The family-founded Keller Estate winery overlooks the Petaluma River Valley and Coastal Mountains from the most southern reaches of the Petaluma Gap. Since 1998, Ana Keller has directed her family’s property, and she played an instrumental role in developing the Petaluma Gap AVA, which is known for its persistent Pacific breezes and dense fog. These conditions, and their effects on the vines, along with our soil profiles and hillside aspect facing West, define our terroir by creating unique, aromatic wines that which are vibrant and balanced. We are 100% estate-grown & bottled.

The Vineyard: Keller Estate was once part of the ancient seabed below San Pablo Bay. These mineral-rich, clay soils define our site and result in a rich minerality, a signature of our wines. The site’s proximity on the Western border of the Mayacamas Foothills, above the Petaluma River, is the southern stretch of the Petaluma Gap. Winds from the Pacific Ocean are pulled through the ‘Gap’ by the warming Central Valley interior which impart distinctive fruit and floral aromatics that which define this AVA.

We implement regenerative farming which focuses on top-soil renewal and increased cover crop and beneficial insect biodiversity, enhancing our own regional ecosystem as well as contributing to the health and vitality of the earth.

From the winery:

Vintage: The 2024 growing season felt like a return to normal after a very late and extended 2023 growing season, and before that, a very early and compressed 2022 vintage. Mild spring weather kicked of the growing season with onset of budbreak right on time in mid-March. Mild weather ensued throughout spring, kicking off bloom mid to late May, followed by fruit set late June and finally, veraison mid to late July. Marm, sunny days and breezy, cool, foggy nights continued throughout the remainder of the ripening season, Harvest began on August 28th with our Keller Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir, and concluded a month later with our Precioso Syrah on September 27th.

Winemaking: Grapes were harvested at ~22 Brix, in the early morning hours to ensure that cool fruit was delivered to the winery. The grapes were then gently destemmed, and transferred directly to the white press where the juice was extracted using a gentle Champagne pressing program to extract only the finest of solids. The juice was received in a holding tank to settle overnight, and then racked off heavy lees into a small stainless steel tank, held at ~55°F. It was in this vessel that native fermentation began about 7 days later, continuing for ~3-1/2 weeks. After completion of fermentation, the wine was racked again off lees, and then chilled to prevent malolactic fermentation from taking place. The wine aged in stainless steel for 4 months before bottling at the end of January, 2025.

Tasting Notes: Bursting with vibrant aromas of grapefruit, hibiscus and raspberry, this delightful rosé of Pinot Noir from our estate vineyard offers crisp acidity, savory herbal notes and minerality that adds texture and length to the palate. Pale salmon in color, this rosé exudes flavors of wild strawberry, cranberry and a hint of tangerine. The finish lingers with snappy, mouthwatering acidity and chalky minerality.

The 2024 Keller Estate Casa Rosé of Pinot Noir opens with a fresh, pleasing aroma of black cherry, strawberry and blackberry with lots of floral notes. It’s a nice start.

The wine tastes rich, juicy and flavorful and features plenty of acidity plus similar flavors to the nose wrapped up in a smooth, vibrant mouthfeel.

It ends crisp, dry and fresh on the long, lip-smacking finish.
