Summer Ship (+$8) – Includes heat protection (styrofoam), freeze packs (when necessary), an upgrade to UPS 2-day shipping to minimize transit time when your order ships, and packages will only ship Monday through Wednesday to avoid them sitting somewhere hot over a weekend.
Because we’re only shipping at the beginning of the week, summer ship orders may take a bit more time to ship after the conclusion of the offer (likely 5-12 days rather than our normal 5-10).
These orders have an additional cost of $8 built into the product price for this Heat Protection Package. It is NOT possible (nor would it be advisable!) to purchase a deal with summer shipping without also including the Heat Protection Package.
Summer Hold (No Extra Charge) – Buy your wine now and have your shipment held (at no extra charge) for delivery in October! While we take every precaution we can with our Summer Shipping protocol, we also know that many of you travel or live in very hot areas where you don’t want to risk it (or you simply detest styrofoam).

2022 Westmount Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: Aromas of black cherry, currant, tobacco, sweet spices, rose petal, and a hint of orange zest. Red plum and juicy blackberries are layered with notes of mineral spice and oak on the palate. Notes of fresh strawberries and subtle vanilla bean. A classic and complex Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.
Vintage Notes: Record cold temperatures and an unforeseen frost highlighted April. The ice that accumulated on the vines post-bud break left many wondering if there would be any grapes to harvest come Fall. May and June followed with unusually cool temperatures, furthering the worry of low yields or a complete loss. July through September was surprisingly warm and helped get the growing season back on track. Warm temperatures and little rain were seen through a good portion of October, allowing the fruit extra weeks of hang time compared to the recent vintages in Oregon. Longtime Willamette Valley winemakers have called it a “classic Oregon vintage,” the type of vintage that persuaded people to plant Pinot Noir here in the first place.

And now on to our review:
The 2022 Westmount Willamette Valley Pinot Noir opens with a pleasing, harmonious aroma of black cherry, zesty citrus notes and cigar box plus a little spice, black tea and more. It’s a great start.
Tasting the wine reveals similar flavors to the nose with firm tannins throughout, well-integrated oaky spice and good acidity. Balanced, structured, juicy and harmonious, this is good stuff.
It ends dry and grippy with some lasting spice under the fruit on the long, mouth-watering finish. It was just as good on day 2 where there was also a touch of an earthy note.

2023 Westmount Willamette Valley Gamay Noir
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: Bursting with vibrant aromas of fresh cherry, wild raspberry, and a hint of rose petals. Bright cranberry and pomegranate flavors on the palate are framed by lively acidity and delicate notes of white pepper and thyme. A clean, refreshing finish makes this wine as versatile as it is expressive.
Vintage Notes: The season began with a slow start due to cool spring temperatures, but an unusual warm spell in May quickly accelerated vine growth. The early warmth followed by stabilizing summer temperatures allowed for excellent ripening conditions. Harvest commenced around mid-September for many, just slightly earlier than usual. Overall, the 2023 vintage from the Willamette Valley is shaping up to be a memorable one.
Vinification Notes: Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in a combo of small stainless steel vessels and neutral French oak barrels for 9 months.

And now on to our review:
The 2023 Westmount Willamette Valley Gamay Noir opens with a pleasing aroma full of bright, red fruit flavors including cherry, cranberry, raspberry and more plus some wild herbs and a hint of earthiness and bubble gum. It’s a great, very Gamay-like start!
Taking a sip reveals the wine to be smooth, juicy, balanced and quite tasty. Plenty of bright, red fruit (just like the nose) is combined with plenty of acidity. This is a fun one to drink and a really delicious example of the variety, and from Oregon no less!
It ends dry, quite long, juicy and a bit grippy and was just as good on day 2.
