From the bottle:
Jakkals is a selection of vineyards growing in the Swartland region. This wine is a blend of white grapes that work together in harmony and peace and understanding. The wine is made for great drinkability, of course which means that the flavours and the textures silky and sumptuous. Drink with attractive friends or cellar until you have attractive or interesting friends.

Today we're featuring another of the South African wines highlighted in Lidl's September Discovery Collection, a fantastic new source of excellent, inexpensive wines. Much like the $10 Cab aged for 26 months in barrel we featured last week, today's wine is a great example of just why we're so excited to see Lidl opening up stores in the US.
The 2015 Jakkals White Blend by Adi Badenhorst begins with a fragrant and very well put together aroma of peaches, citrus, honeysuckle and more. Tasting the wine reveals a smooth, excellent texture in the mouth along with juicy, fresh fruit flavors of apple, pear and peach all tinged with honey. You'll also find good acidity and a surprising amount of complexity for a $6 wine. These three varieties complement each other quite nicely. A bit of spice and white pepper on the mid-palate leads into the long-lasting finish. Highly Recommended.
