Kirkland Signature Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Review

Checking out the latest vintage of a nice Napa Valley wine from Costco, the Kirkland Signature Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

This Kirkland Signature wine is available exclusively at Costco for just $14.99.

We’re always happy to see this bottle pop up in stores and just like previously, it is still made by Alison Crowe for DC Flynt MW Selections. Interestingly Costco seems to have skipped a few vintages as the 2020 was the last we found in stores. Let’s check out the 2023.

Napa Valley has a well-deserved reputation for being the perfect place to grow Cabernet Sauvignon. Kirkland Signature Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits dark blackberry aromas and flavors intertwined with savory spice and vanilla.

The 2023 Kirkland Signature Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a pleasing aroma of black cherry, plum, cola and spice. It’s pretty similar to the 2020 with a touch of a herbal note and lots more vanilla. Give it a bit of time to breathe to be at its best.

Taking a sip reveals quite a tasty and harmonious wine in the mouth with a smooth mouthfeel and similar flavors to the nose plus perhaps just a hint of residual sugar.

Fine tannins and even a touch of dustiness lead into the dry, long, satisfying finish. It was even a bit better on day 2.

Overall, we like the 2023 just a bit better than the 2020 so we’ll put it at the high end of our 8 Taste Rating at 90 points.
