The 2023 Line 39 California Cabernet Sauvignon opens with some tart and a bit jammy dark berry fruit plus spice, vanilla and cola. It’s a good start and it’s easy to see that this will have a lot of mass appeal.
Tasting the medium-bodied wine reveals it to be soft, smooth and a bit sweet with similar flavors to nose. It is full of rich, sweet, tart fruit tinged with spice, cola, chocolate and vanilla notes. Relatively simple and easy to drink, this is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
It ends mostly dry and with decent length on the finish. It’s a bit sweet and manufactured tasting, but in a pinch (and at this price), it’ll do.
