The Martellotto Santa Ynez Syrah comes from the 40 year-old vines of the Zaca Mesa Vineyard in Santa Ynez, Santa Barbara County, California. The wine spends 24 months in French oak, 30% of which was new.

The 2017 Martellotto Santa Ynez Syrah begins with a wonderfully succulent Syrah aroma of blackberry, violets, a little bacon, dried herbs, leather and more. It's absolutely a pleasure to stick your nose into this one!
The wine tastes big, meaty and delicious. This is my kind of wine! It's smooth with lots of savory, bright fruit like black cherry and raspberry plus well-integrated pepper and spice notes and a bit of vanilla.
It ends with a dry, juicy, very long and lingering finish. This is a lovely example of Syrah!
