The Olelo is 76% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles, California. The wine is aged in 25% new French and American oak for 8 months. Only 832 cases were produced.

The 2018 Olelo Paso Robles Merlot begins with a very pleasing, inviting aroma of bright fruit, well-integrated baking spice notes and some nice secondary touches of vanilla and chocolate.
Taking a sip reveals a smooth and tasty wine that is quite easy to drink. It tastes much like it smells (a very good thing) with more bright fruit and well-integrated baking spice. It's really solid at this price. It's hard to go wrong with a Merlot/Cab blend and this one knocks it out of the park!
The wine ends dry, savory and long with the fruit turning a bit tart. This is a great daily drinker especially for fall/winter weather -- it went wonderfully with my wife's pot roast. At less than $11 a bottle our advice is to stock up!
