The 2017 Renzo Masi Erta e China begins with a very nice, succulent aroma of red and black cherry, cedar, violets and a little spice. Right from the first sip there’s no doubt this is a distinctively italian wine with savory sour cherry Sangiovese flavors smoothed out and bulked up a bit by the Cabernet. It also features good acidity and nice touches of spice. The tart fruit lasts through the dry, long, grippy finish. This is a really delicious Super Tuscan on its own but even better when paired with Italian food.
