The replacement for the Kirkland Signature K-Vine rosé? We review the $9.99 Substance Ro Syrah Rosé found at Costco.

The Substance Ro Rosé is available at Costco for just $9.99. We’re not sure if it is a Costco exclusive but it does not appear to be available anywhere else.
Well, isn’t this interesting? We were wondering why we hadn’t seen any new vintages of the Kirkland Signature K-Vine line recently, especially the K Vine Rosé when lo and behold we find what looks to be the exact same wine under the winery’s label.
As we’ve noted before the K-Vine line is made by Charles Smith for Costco. Charles Smith also makes the Substance Wines. In this case, the grape (Syrah) and even vineyard (Buckshot) are the exact same between the 2022 K-Vine version and this new 2023 Substance Wines version. They are also priced the exact same at $9.99.
Does this mean the K-Vine wines are no longer? We’re not sure but in the meantime, let’s check out how the Substance Ro Rosé measures up!

The 2023 Substance Ro Syrah Rosé begins with a very pleasing, harmonious aroma of strawberry, melon and cherry along with some light herbal notes.
Taking a sip reveals a super easy to drink porch pounder perfect for summer. Watermelon and some other tart fruit notes are added to all the other flavors from the nose when tasting. Smooth and a bit creamy, the wine also has great depth of flavor on the rich, juicy fruit.
It ends dry with a long, lip-smacking finish. This is quite quaffable! We’ll put it at the high end of our 8 Taste Rating (90 points).
