A big, dry, rich and tasty wine, the Villa di Capezzana Carmignano DOCG.
Organically grown 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon from Carmignano, Tuscany, Italy. The wine is aged in French barriques and tonneaux for 12 months and another 12 months in bottle before release.

This is the big brother wine to the Capezzano Barco Reale di Carmignano (see that post for more info on the region). The primary difference is the lengthier aging requirements on today's wine.
Colour: Deep ruby red
Nose: Ample, elegant, sweet and fruity with spicy aromas
Palate: Soft, firm, fat with dense and sweet tannins, well balanced acidity in harmony with both texture and body. Long and persistent finish, fruity with small red fruits and spicy tones.14.5% Alcohol
The 2016 Villa di Capezzana Carmignano begins with quite an inviting aroma of ripe fruit and a little spice along with seamless touches of vanilla and licorice.
Taking a sip reveals a big, dry, rich and tasty wine. This one definitely has some good aging potential and is still a bit young at this point. With good balance, this is really delicious even at this young age and it gets even better as it has some air.
It finishes dry, quite chewy and quite long and lasting. This is full-bodied deliciousness!
