Villa Wolf Pinot Gris – Crowd Pleasing

By: Jon Thorsen Last Updated: December 5, 2020

Crisp and nicely sweet, the Villa Wolf Pinot Gris has mass appeal.

Villa Wolf Pinot Gris - Crowd Pleasing

100% Pinot Gris from Pfalz, Germany. The wine is fermented in a combination of stainless steel, large neutral oak casks and concrete tanks and does not undergo malolactic fermentation. It has 8.5 g/L of residual sugar.

Sample submitted for review. This wine has an SRP of $12 but is available for around $10. Ready to buy? Check your local retailers.

From the bottle:

A dry, unoaked white wine from Germany’s Rhine River valley. It is fresh and fruity, making it a very food-friendly wine for any day of the week.

12.5% Alcohol

The 2018 Villa Wolf Pinot Gris begins with pleasing aromas of tropical fruit, pear and lemon/lime.

It tastes crisp and lively in the mouth but also nicely sweet. Refreshing and easy to drink, it is quite food friendly as well. There is lots of mass appeal in this one with a bit more depth than many of the mass market Italian Pinot Grigio, but it is also still very approachable and easy.

It ends with a dry, crisp, medium-long finish.

Ready to buy? Check your local retailers.
