Our family's commitment to crafting fine Australian wines has spanned four decades and three generations. This Shiraz from our founding range of wine displays seductive ripe berry and plum flavors perfectly balanced with enticing mocha, spice and creamy vanillin characters from quality oak.
Our winemaker Adam Eggins recommends this Shiraz is best enjoyed when at its optimum drinking temperature of 61-64F.

As we mentioned above, the back label of this bottle includes a colored temperature indicator. While my first thought was that this is rather gimmicky, I have to admit it's actually quite helpful! Most people (including myself) drink their red wine too warm -- usually at room temperature. Low to mid-60s is actually a much better serving temp to get the most out of your wine and this label serves as both an easy reminder and a simple means to check.
But now, on to the wine! The 2016 Wakefield Shiraz from Taylors Family Wines begins with an enticing aroma of spicy black cherry, black pepper and plum notes. The wine tastes smooth and spicy just like a good Shiraz should. Medium to full-bodied, it features loads of dark berry fruit, cola and licorice with hints of vanilla wrapped up in a nice velvety mouthfeel. A bit of oaky spice and coffee leads into the dry, long finish.
