Weingut Winter Dittelsheim Riesling - A Delight

By: Jon Thorsen Published: October 8, 2018 Last Updated: June 1, 2021

Another excellent and affordable Riesling from Germany, the Weingut Winter Dittelsheim Riesling.

Weingut Winter Dittelsheim Riesling - A Delight

100% Riesling from Rheinhessen, Germany. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel and has residual sugar of 4.0 g/L.

Sample submitted for review. This Riesling is available for around $15. Ready to buy? Check your local retailers.

    From the winery:

The grapes of our village wines grow on the most limey soils around our hometown. Within sunrise the hand-picking begins. Afterwards the grapes spend a few hours on the mush to extract the unique flavours of the berry skins. After the spontaneous fermentation the Riesling ages in stainless steel tanks.

Elegant and filigree Riesling by our site of limestone. The subtle minerality of limestone is vibrant and pleasing. This minerality creates structure, expression and harmony. Fits perfectly to classic cuisine, fish and shellfish dishes.

    12.5% Alcohol

The 2015 Weingut Winter Dittelsheim Riesling begins with a pleasing aroma of citrus, lime, lemon, green apple and a touch of baking spice. Tasting the wine reveals more of the same fruit flavors along with lively acidity and just a touch of sweetness. It ends tart, crisp and long with the hint of baking spice from the nose returning and lingering for a long time in the mouth. This is just a delight to drink! We found that it paired quite well with our ground turkey tacos with spicy pico de gallo thanks to the touch of sweetness.

Ready to buy the Weingut Winter Dittelsheim Riesling? Check your local retailers.
