100% Riesling from steep slate hillside vineyard plots near Bernkastel in Mosel, Germany. The wine is off-dry and has 30 g/L of residual sugar.
The Zum Riesling is available for just $7.99 at Aldi but unlike most of the other Aldi wines this one doesn’t appear to be an exclusive as wine-searcher shows a number of other sellers – at a much steeper price; however, with an average of $13. Imported by Baer Beverage.
Zum is a mouth-watering and food-friendly Riesling from Germany’s famed Mosel river valley, an awe-inspiring region with ancient slate-stone vineyards. Zum represents the best of old world winemaking tradition. Experience apricot and lime with fresh mineral notes and a touch of sweetness. Pair with spicy dishes, white meats and salads. Serve chilled.

The 2018 Zum Riesling begins with a pleasing aroma of citrus, a little pineapple, honeysuckle and a touch of wet rocks. Tasting the wine reveals lots of honey-soaked apple and lime notes. Simple, nicely sweet and delicious this wine handles all the sugar quite well thanks to plenty of lively acidity. It ends with lots of lingering lime and apple along with some lip-smacking sweetness on the medium-long finish.
