The Weekly Wrap-Up: A Great Gift For Wine Lovers, Upcoming Series and More (December 2, 2012)

By: Jon Thorsen Published: April 2, 2012 Last Updated: April 4, 2015

    Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Before we get to our recap of the week, did you check out the special deal from Club W on Monday of this week? Get a free bottle of wine and free shipping! This would make a great gift for wine lovers.

Also, stay tuned this week for delicious new updates in all three of our ongoing series, Awesome Austrians, Wines of Alto Adige, and Holiday Sparklers 2012. And then in January get ready for two new series on styles of wine we haven't delved into nearly enough -- Meritage and Port.

One other note before we go through our recap of the week...with the holidays here the deals from the flash sale sites have been hot and heavy and selling out fast. Be sure to follow The Reverse Wine Snob on Facebook and I'll let you know when I spot the particularly good ones! And to make the deals even a little sweeter new sign-ups can get get $10 credit for either of the sites through the links above.

And now onto our recap of the week. Monday brought the special deal we mentioned above: Get a free bottle of wine and free shipping on your first order from Club W, exclusively through The Reverse Wine Snob!

On Tuesday we enjoyed a Super (fruity) Tuscan, the Frescobaldi Remole Toscana 2010 - A Juicy Berry Bomb.

Wednesday we featured the McManis Family Vineyards Barbera 2011 - A Little Bit of Italy Right Here in America. A bottle of Barbera and a pizza for around 20 bucks? We like it!

On Thursday we highlighted perhaps the most elusive of all wines, an economical Nebbiolo: Cantine San Silvestro Brumo Nebbiolo d'Alba 2009 - An Everyday Italian. We also unveiled an exciting new program for wineries and wine brands looking for importers and distributors:Beverage Trade Network Wine 360 - Get Discovered!

It was a BULK BUY Friday with the smooth, smoky and spicy Borsao Berola 2008 - Absolutely Fabulous!

And finally on Saturday we ended with a splurge, the Hahn Estates Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2010 - Silky, Spicy, Smoky and Delicious.
