Aldi Specially Selected Fleurs D’Eau Sparkling Brut Rosé Review

A French sparkler with a highly intriguing blend of grapes, we review the Specially Selected Fleurs D’Eau Sparkling Brut Rosé from Aldi.

Aldi Specially Selected Fleurs D'Eau Sparkling Brut Rosé Review

A rosé sparkling wine with an unusual blend of 47% Sangiovese, 23% Bobal, 23% Tempranillo and 7% Muscat from France. The wine is made in the charmat method where the bubbles are added in tank (versus the traditional method like Champagne where the bubbles are created by a secondary fermentation in the bottle).

Made primarily from Italian and Spanish grape varieties, yet from France, I don’t think we’ve ever seen a sparkling wine with this type of blend. Retailing for just $10.99 exclusively from Aldi, let’s check it out. It is imported by Prestige Beverage Group.

From the bottle:

This sparkling Rosé wine is fresh and round. Fine bubbles with light red fruits on the nose, and a fresh, smooth palate. Perfect with creamy risotto, or as an appetizer to enjoy at celebrations with friends.

11.5% Alcohol

The non-vintage Aldi Specially Selected Fleurs D’Eau Sparkling Brut Rosé smells like summer. It opens with an attractive aroma full of fresh red berries and tropical fruit with a little honeydew melon. It’s a nice start.

Tasting the wine reveals plenty of bubbles, a crisp mouthfeel and similar flavors to the nose. This is a satisfying sparkling wine that will make a nice palate cleanser with fried and salty foods.

It ends crisp and with good length. This unusual blend of grapes makes a solid bubbly!

If you prefer wines made in the traditional method like Champagne, then you may also want to check out the Aldi Specially Selected Cremant de Bordeaux Brut Rosé which is the same price.
