A nice little bubbly from Aldi, we review the Specially Selected Cremant de Bordeaux Rosé Brut.
Cremant de Bordeaux is sparkling wine made in the traditional method like Champagne (where the secondary fermentation happens in the bottle versus in a tank like Prosecco). Bordeaux indicates, of course, that it comes from the Bordeaux region. It is one of 8 such “Cremant” regions in France.
Using the same Bordeaux varieties found in the red wines of this region (predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot), sparkling wines here must be aged a minimum of 12 months. Another in the line of Specially Selected wines available exclusively at Aldi, let’s check this budget friendly Brut Rosé out.
Retailing for just $10.99, the wine is imported by Prestige Beverage Group.
From the bottle:
This Cremant de Bordeaux Brut Rosé offers a brilliant salmon robe, with elegant bubbles, a fresh bouquet of raspberries, cassis and a clean finish. To be enjoyed chilled as an aperitif.

The Aldi Specially Selected Cremant de Bordeaux Brut Rosé opens with fresh and crisp aromas of fleshy red fruit with some honey-like notes and a touch of fresh baked bread. It’s an attractive start.
Tasting reveals an abundance of fine bubbles in this nicely sweet but still crisp and tasty sparkler. It features similar flavors to the nose but has good acidity and is more tart in the mouth. This makes for a great palate cleanser and will go well with fatty and salty appetizers. I don’t normally swirl my sparkling wines but I needed to with this one to get the bubbles down a bit.
It ends dry, crisp, and quite long on the lip-smacking finish. This is a nice little bubbly.
