Melon, citrus and a good dose of lemongrass all combine nicely to make quite an attractive aroma on the 2016 Ashbourne Sauvignon Blanc Chardonnay. Tasting reveals deep flavors of peach, more citrus and melon. Fresh with good balance and a soft, round mouthfeel this dynamic duo of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay complement each other very well. Add in some zippy acidity and this is an excellent wine; it even gains complexity as it has time in the glass. Touches of herbal notes under the fruit lead into the surprisingly long, lingering finish of tart tropical fruit.
