The 2016 Torre Castillo Jumilla Alegre opens with a pleasing aroma of blackberry, licorice, spice and violets. Tasting the wine reveals deep, dark blackberry flavors mixed with just the right amounts of spice and earth. This is a wine with great depth of flavor which is not very common at this low price point. Smooth but grippy and substantial tannins and even a touch of minerality lead into the long, dry finish.
