This wine is the result of careful selection of grapes from our oldest vineyards. The best fruit from these low yield, dry farmed ungrafted vines is fermented at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged for four months in new oak casks made from top grade American oak.
13.5% Alcohol
The 2016 Torre Castillo Jumilla Alegre opens with a pleasing aroma of blackberry, licorice, spice and violets. Tasting the wine reveals deep, dark blackberry flavors mixed with just the right amounts of spice and earth. This is a wine with great depth of flavor which is not very common at this low price point. Smooth but grippy and substantial tannins and even a touch of minerality lead into the long, dry finish.
