Our perennial “pizza/pasta wine” has become ‘Blissful Red’ - a nose of black licorice and vanilla, followed by a rich mouth feel bursting with bright blackberries, stone fruit, and mocha. This wine finishes with hints of berry pie with integrated tannins and good acidity to make it the perfect food match.

The 2018 Bliss Family Vineyards Blissful Red begins with quite an inviting aroma of spicy dark fruit, vanilla, a little cedar and a bit of a floral note.
Taking a sip reveals a medium-bodied, smooth and tasty wine where everything just works. Juicy dark fruit, lots of well-integrated spice notes and a bit more vanilla all combine harmoniously. It doesn't have a high degree of complexity but it's very easy to drink. We can see why the winery calls this their perennial pizza wine!
It ends dry and slightly chewy on the medium-long finish. Yum, this one is ready to drink now, right out of the bottle.
